Alpaca Photography and Art Competition
The Photography and Art section of the Futurity will showcase talented photographers, artists and their models. The entries will be displayed in the main reception for the seminars, Elite Auction and Saturday evening entertainment and will create an interesting spectacle for exhibitors and visitors.

Photography
Entries are invited for the following classes. Entry fee per exhibit is £5 plus VAT:
Class PH1 Cria: A photograph containing one or more cria
Class PH2 Alpacas Interacting: A photograph showing interaction between alpacas and other alpacas or other animals or humans
Class PH3 Farm Scene: A photograph of a farm or countryside scene containing at least one alpaca
Class PH4 Humorous: A photograph which makes you laugh and includes at least one alpaca
Awards:
Rosettes will be awarded in each class to three places if appropriate
Best Photograph award judged from first places in each class.
Prize Money: Best Photograph £25
| Conditions of Entry for Photographic Competition | |

| 1 The photographs must have been taken by the exhibitor.
2 There is a limit of two exhibits from one exhibitor per class. 3 Minimum size A4 (210 x 297mm). Maximum size A3 (420 x 297mm). 4 Judging will be based on quality, artistic impression and how well the photograph depicts the category in which it was entered. |
5 Exhibits must not have any identifying features such as stud or farm name, exhibitor name or logo.
6 Photographs must be framed for protection and display purposes and be easily capable of being hung with a hook. 7 Exhibits must be collected by the exhibitor or nominee at the conclusion of the Futurity. 8 The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. |
Art Works
Entries are invited for the following classes. Junior Entries up to 16 years of age on 27th February 2009. Entry fee per exhibit is £5 plus VAT.
Class AR1: A painting including at least one alpaca
Class AR2 Junior Entries Only: A painting including at least one alpaca
Class AR3: A drawing including at least one alpaca
Class AR4 Junior Entries Only: A drawing including at least one alpaca
Awards
Rosettes will be awarded in each class to three places if appropriate

Alpaca Fibre Craft Competition
It is hoped the fibre craft section of the Futurity will encourage both adult and juniors and reward skills and innovation in the use of alpaca fibre with sections for hand spinning, weaving, hand knitting or crocheting and felting.
The entries will be displayed in the main reception area for the seminars, Elite Auction and Saturday evening entertainment and will create an interesting display for exhibitors and visitors in conjunction with the photography and art exhibits.

Entries are invited for the following classes. Juniors up to 16 years of age on 27th February 2009. Entry fee per exhibit is £5 plus VAT:
Section 1 Hand Spinning
Class FC1/1: Hand spun 100% natural alpaca plain skein, huacaya or suri
Class FC1/2: Hand spun natural alpaca fancy skein, huacaya or suri (can be blend)
Section 2 Weaving
Class FC2/1: Hand woven article using hand spun alpaca yarn – Huacaya or Suri
Class FC2/2: Hand woven article using machine made alpaca yarn – Huacaya or Suri
Section 3 Hand Knitting or Crocheting
Class FC3/1: Hand knitted article using hand spun alpaca – Huacaya or Suri
Class FC3/2: Hand knitted article using machine made alpaca yarn – Huacaya or Suri
Class FC3/3 Junior Entrants Only: Hand knitted article using hand or machine made alpaca yarn – Huacaya or Suri
Class FC3/4: Crocheted article using hand spun alpaca yarn – Huacaya or Suri
Class FC3/5: Crocheted article using machine made alpaca yarn – Huacaya or Suri
Class FC3/6 Junior Entrants Only: Crocheted article using hand spun or machine made alpaca yarn – Huacaya or Suri
Section 4 Felting
Class FC4/1: Felted article using alpaca fibre
Class FC4/2 Junior Entrants Only: Felted article using alpaca fibre
Class FC4/3: Needle felted article using alpaca fibre
